As our highly experienced sailing friends navigate around the treacherous shoals of
Cape Romano, Hal and B.J. delight in
seeing ... for the first time ... Channel Marker 16, which marks the entry, from the Gulf, to Everglades City and
the Ten Thousand Islands. As we turned Port and headed due East towards the distant mangrove islands and Indian
Key Pass, the sky grew purple with heavy rains -- We rejoiced! --
as until this moment, a severe drought had plagued the entire Everglades National Park System for an extended period.

Hal continues to find the essence and the dynamics of the mangrove
wetlands a huge source of inspiration for his work including those entitled "Little Shark River - Everglades,"
and "Mangrove Momma," (hand pulled, hand colored, original lithographs); and "Rocky Creek - Ten
Thousand Islands" (a mixed media limited edition).
